Huka Falls
At the Huka Falls, the Waikato River which is normally 100m wide, is squeezed through a 20 metre wide gorge and over a 20m drop.
Every second up to 220,000 litres of water gushes through the gorge and shoots out over 8 metres beyond to create a beautful blue/green pool.
Huka Jet
The Huka Jet Boat is an exhilarating, once of a lifetime water ride through the Waikato River with amazing views of the spectacular Huka Falls.
Experience 360 degree spins and speeds of over 80km/hour!
The Huka Jet Boat ride goes for approximately 30 minutes, during which time you travel to the base of the Huka Falls and past the Aratiatia Dam.
Tongaririo Crossing
The Tongariro Alpine Crossing also referred to as the Tongariro Crossing is heralded as the best one-day trek available in New Zealand, while others boast it ranks among the top ten single day treks in the world.
Many who complete the 19.4 kilometre journey will tell you the climbs can be steep and the weather unpredictable, though worth it in every aspect.
L'Arte Cafe
The cafe and gallery are both set in a magical garden complete with an outside mosaic living room. The food and art at L’Arte’s unique destination are both exquisite. Resident ceramic artist Judi Brennan’s work is evident everywhere and is sold exclusively from L’Arte’s Gallery together with work from other New Zealand artists.
